The Challenger T/A  Model Tribute Page

T/A cars have fans in all reaches of the Automotive industries and hobbies and here is a selection of T/A models by some extremely talented builders.  The purpose of this page is to highlight and pay tribute to the model builders who have chosen the 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A as the subject of their project.  The talent it takes to recreate these cars in small scale is next to an art form. Builders spend many hours replicating  in 1:24 scale a comparison with the 1:1 Challenger T/As .  If you have modeled a T/A car and would like to see it featured on our site please send them in. And I'm sure you will agree after reviewing these works...they have done a great job.  Enjoy this display.

Thank you all,
Brian for The Challenger T/A Registry

Name of modeler:  Dave Zinn

Kit/Scale: Monogram Challenger T/A in 1/24

Inspiration: In the builders own words “This build from the very start was to replicate a T/A you may find for sale on E-bay or in a magazine like Mopar collectors guide. I wanted the car to look like it had one heck of a life, with lots of stories to tell.”

Modifications:  Engine is finished to look like a later 360 w/old school tunnel ram intake, dual Holley's and some swap meet gold anodized velocity stacks. Details: plugs wires, plumbing and extensive detailing.

Special Features:  Lowered front end and some negative camber to give the appearance of a very worn out suspension, extensive weather/rust techniques were used to tell the car story “at one point it was wrecked on the passenger side, so a junkyard Challenger donated most of it's front clip and a door to our poor T/A.”

Final Thoughts:  This is a model of a Challenger T/A that has been through the ringer, more than a few times, but still has the potential with a loving new owner to be what it once was. the inspiration for this build was a love of Mopar muscle and the wish to be lucky enough to find a deal like this one day.

Thank you,  Dave for building a great looking if not well used T/A.  All muscle cars did not live a sheltered life.
