|
The pennant to the right I believe to be
circa late 1940s to Early 1950s as evident of the leather football helmet the player is wearing.
In some circles I've seen this pennant referred to as the Lou Groza
pennant |

The pennant to the left
I believe to be
circa late 1940s to Early 1950
this Brownie pennant featuring, the MEAN Brownie, was used mostly
during the late 1940s when the Browns 1st started playing in the old
All-American Football Conference-in fact is on the cover of the
Browns 1948 home game programs. The team also used it as well
as other Brownie emblems in the NFL in the 1950s-there is NO NFL
emblem on the pennant-the NFL emblem 1st appeared on NFL items sold
at the Stadium and stores around about 1962/63

|
The pennant to the right I believe
to be circa early 1960s features the Elf wearing a crown
representing the Browns NFL Championship. Believe this pennant
had to be available before Art Modell purchased the team in 1963, as
Modell hate the Brownie Elf and phase it out of use.
